YOU MIGHT HAVE SOME QUESTIONS...

What is Counselling? Counselling is a form of talk therapy that involves working with a trained professional to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a safe and supportive environment. The goal of counselling is to help you gain insight and understanding into your struggles, develop coping strategies, and make positive changes in your life. Counselling can be helpful for a range of mental health issues, and can be tailored to your unique needs and goals.

What happens next? After you get in touch, we'll arrange an initial conversation. During this session, we'll discuss your goals and questions about therapy, and I'll provide more information about my approach and how I can support you. Sessions can either be face-to-face or online.

How do I pay for my sessions? To make payment for your counselling sessions, you will need to pay in advance- this will be done through a payment link or you can pay for your next session when booking in again in person. For telephone and online sessions, payments also need to be made prior to your scheduled appointment. If you need to cancel your appointment, please do so at least 24 hours beforehand. If you cancel within the 24-hour period, or do not attend without prior notice, the full cost of the session may be charged. I understand that sometimes unforeseen circumstances can arise, so please get in touch if you have any concerns or questions about payment or cancellation.

Are the sessions confidential? Confidentiality is of the utmost importance in our counselling sessions. As an ethical and professional counsellor, I follow the guidelines set by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) to ensure your privacy is respected. While there may be exceptional circumstances where confidentiality needs to be broken, I will always explain this clearly and provide detailed information about your rights and options in these situations. You can find more information about confidentiality and your privacy in my contract and privacy statement.

How long does therapy last? Therapy is a client-driven process, and there are no set timeframes. Depending on your needs, some clients may benefit from short-term therapy that lasts just a few months, while others may require a more extended approach to address deeper issues. For best results, it's recommended to attend weekly sessions, which will allow the therapeutic process to unfold naturally and without interruption. Together, we'll work to find the best approach for your unique situation and support you in your journey toward healing and growth.
